Everyone seems to understand that affiliate marketing really works, but statistics show that less than 1% of the total affiliates are making money in this insanely competitive market. The mass majority of people earn NOTHING when it comes to affiliate marketing.

It is also worthwhile noting that there have been hundreds of e-books written on affiliate marketing. Even though these books provide unique and measurable methods to make money online, most internet marketers still find it impossible to make any money.

I have taken the time to check many affiliate products and they have a lot of things in common: Their sales page has images of insanely expensive cars and houses, an unbelievable proof of earnings such as checks showing 5-figures and they show an easy e-book that you need to follow in order to get rich. Because greed is a powerful motivator, this makes affiliate book authors a lot of money.

Now, the author of the affiliate marketing books always teaches people the right stuff. The only problem is, the information mentioned in the ebook is never complete. A huge problem with affiliate marketing ebooks is that the contain little or no information on how to get quality traffic to your website. This area of negligence makes it impossible for the reader to make money online.

A lot of affiliate marketing e-books talk about the need for quality traffic  and very little about how to get relevant, quality traffic. They just tell you to buy traffic from Adwords, try to rank high in Google or submit your content to social bookmarking websites. But because they cannot pinpoint the exact methods for getting traffic, the whole affiliate marketing process becomes useless.

For these reasons, anyone who is new to affiliate marketing will definitely lose a lot of time and money by following the e-books blindly. You can have a fabulous affiliate website but if you have no traffic, you will make no money.
